Vintage Yacht Club Pennant made of wool, dates back to the early 1900’s. The cotton initials G.S.B.Y.R.A stand for Great South Bay Yacht Racing Association, a not-for-profit sailing organization.
The G.S.B.Y.R.A. is a regional sailing organization that was established on September 27, 1906, located on the shores of Long Island NY. The founders created the association as a link for organizations and sailors to form a more organized way of racing and included a Constitution and By-Laws to establish authority and rules to operate.
Today the association offers a multitude of racing opportunities, and as it’s founders once imagined, brings the novice and the skilled sailors together to share in their experiences and enjoy the camaraderie and the competition yachting brings.
